This is a piece for concert band and narrator. This is the story of Clare who is struggling to learn 16th notes on her euphonium. Her wise grandmother helps her understand by taking her on a train ride. The narrator part includes some singing. The conductor should make the band aware of the fact that all of the vocal parts fit together and that the piece is based on “rhythm changes” from “I Got Rhythm.” Have fun with the fun percussion train sounds. Your audience will enjoy it and you can even use it at a Young Peoples Concert!
